CHESS
In my opinion chess is the most beautiful art performed by two opponents, however physically crippled they may be, provided they are not intellectually crippled .In other words chess should be a play of intelligence performed by two sensible opponents. This art improve our two modes thinking, the divergent thinking and the convergent thinking and a dynamic equilibrium between the two modes will be attained at the later stage when we are more and more proficient in this art. Divergent thinking helps us to search the variety of moves suitable in a particular position and by convergent thinking we are able to select the most appropriate move. Our personality will also be developed if we consider chess seriously and aesthetically as an art of sportsman spirit. According to me this is an art which should be activated in being mode but not in having mode. Novel and novel microcircuits will be opened in the brain if we approach chess in being mode of awareness and the result will be a pleasant and delightful experience.
The art of chess is classified into three phases
(1)OPENING
This phase is controlled by the following strict rules 1.Capturing of the Centre of the by pawns
2 Activation of knight
3. Pushing of the pawns without interrupting the mobility of the pieces
4. Acquisition of the safety of king by early castling.
5. Prohibition of the repeated move of the same piece.
The ability of the opening should be developed in the preliminary stage by learning by heart all the lines of a particular opening opted by the player up to 15 or 20 moves.
(2)MIDDLE GAME
This phase is completely controlled by the intellectual and logical capacity of the player and there are no strict rules in phase. Here the previously mentioned two modes of thinking should be operated elegantly.
(3)ENDGAME
The end game expert Silman has the opinion that the end game should be practiced as we practice the multiplication table. Here I have nothing to say about the end other than suggesting practicing the ‘Silman’s complete endgame course’.
